Rogerstone Bowling Club was founded in 1976. The Club is situated next to the new Rogerstone Primary School and the Police Station.
The pavilion is owned by Rogerstone Bowling who manage the green on behalf of Newport Borough Council. There are two public rinks on the green for use by the general public who are not members of the Club.
The Club badge depicts the old Rogerstone Castle, now long gone. We have approximately 30 members and field teams in the Newport league, the Monmouthshire league and the over-sixties league. A variety of Club competitions are held throughout the season.
This season the Club managed to win 5 games out of 10 played and is extremely pleased to win promotion to the 4th division in the Monmouthshire league.
The pavilion also houses the Ladies Cefn Wood Bowling Club.
Captain Wynn Tomkins is pleased with the Club`s success this season and welcomes new players to join us so that we can build on the performance of this year.
New players, young and old, will be given a warm welcome at Rogerstone Bowling Club. Anyone who would like to try the sport is welcome to ring the Secretary Lyn Curnuck (Tel 01633 666538) or Captain Wynn Tomkins (Tel 01443 814994). Woods and shoes are available at the Club. Bowling tuition for beginners can be arranged.
