OK, so the clocks have gone forward, you've taken a look at the garden and removed the old stock, had a grand sort out and you're really revved up for a totally new look in the garden!
Oh! I'm going a bit too fast...alright, let's start again.
The clocks have gone forward...and...and...that's the only thing that has changed since last season.
So you and I are just the same as all the other gardeners and would be landscapers looking for inspiration and ideas on what to do this year!
Why should it be any different this year from last year, after all, the gardens have been fine for the past few seasons, why should we change it now?
Because that's what we do; we sit on quiet mornings, with a cup of tea and a couple of rounds of toast, gaze at our gardens looking for some kind of divine inspiration, planning how to change our little piece of tranquillity and all the ideas flood past of what we could do if only...
Here's where it changes. This community of ours undoubtedly holds a wealth of knowledge relating to gardens and gardening; be it landscaping, garden design or just those invaluable tips that we give to each other.
We can all benefit from others "in the know". We would like to have your tips and views on what makes a good garden even better and I don't want anybody being shy here because there are people out there who need your help, whatever small snippet you have to offer.
Any top tips offered up will be featured in a future edition of "In The Garden", as a guide for others to follow in their own gardens. We would also like to include a questions and answers section covering both hard and soft landscaping. Anything you want to know, just ask!
I'll be giving my views and knowledge on the hard landscaping issues, ably assisted by James Whiting on the greener side. Together we'll give advice and help on garden design and construction helping you to transform ideas into real gardens.
You see, we're all the same really and it doesn't matter if we've a huge garden or the tiniest of spaces to indulge in, the question is, "how can I make this space work in the best possible way?" Turfing, planting, patios, raised planters...there are no limits to what we can achieve together, so, hopefully I'll see you next time with a whole host of news and views "in the garden".
Any questions or tips can be sent to susan@rogerstonedirectory.co.uk or The Rogerstone Directory PO Box 800 Newport NP20 9FQ
